E&H Steel Corporation’s Engineering Department retains a long-standing relationship with many of the leading Structural Engineering firms in the commercial market. On a daily basis, the Engineering Department is in direct contact with firms such as Gresham Smith and Partners, Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates, and The Structural Design Group. More often than not, we are asked to begin work off of an “Early Release Package”; therefore, close contact with the Engineer of Record is a must to have a successful project. The Engineering Department consists of three divisions. Those divisions are: Inside Detailing, Sublet Detailing, and Document Control. Our Inside Detailing staff includes a Chief Draftsman, 2 Checkers, and 6 Detailers. We use 3 main pieces of software for detailing. They are AutoCAD, Asteel, and X-Steel. Our Sublet Detailing division consists of two Project Coordinators. Our Document Control Department consists of two people who print and distribute drawings. In addition, we have recently purchased an Oce 9600 printing station, which allows us to scan to file as well as plot. E&H Steel hosts and maintains its own FTP site.
